Thrift Store Volunteers Celebrated

The Ridgefield Thrift Shop recently provided $500,000 in donations to 71 local organizations and Steve Zemo, owner of Ridgefield Apartments, was impressed. "I had to reread the story!" he explained.

So he decided to do something to thank the volunteers who made it all happen. "They deserve the best." Steve said. "A three course meal with dessert and wine." And so he organized lunch for 72 Ridgefield Thrift Shop volunteers on Monday, April 8th at TerraSole. "We sold out the restaurant." Steve said.

First Selectman Rudy Marconi came with a proclamation that he presented to Sandra Capriotti, recognizing the contributions of the volunteers who work at the thrift shop.

"It is our pleasure to host the 72 volunteers and have the opportunity to say thank you, for their time, energy, and generosity. The entire town benefits from the dozens of non-profits who received the grants. This is a great example of community at its best," explained Steve.
