Deborah Ann's Sweet Shoppe draws fans from near and far, and the store anchors Ridgefield's Main Street with quintessential small-town charm. In recognition of the Shoppe's 20th anniversary and her dedication to town residents and the Downtown Ridgefield community, the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce named Deborah Ann Backes the 2019 Woman of the Year.
Chamber Executive Director Kim Bova recently stopped in and gave her the news in her store, joined by First Selectman Rudy Marconi who made an official proclamation in her honor.
Deborah Ann will receive her official award at the Chamber's 2019 Women's Forum on Thursday, May 16th from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Le Chateau in South Salem.
The event will include special keynote speaker Stacy Martin, shopping, a pop-up nightclub, Mediterranean food stations and wine, and, we're told, exciting auction items. This event is a fundraiser for the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce's Business Incubator Initiative. Tickets are $65 through May 1st, $80 after and can be purchased from the Chamber at destinationridgefield.com.
